Alma Ruth Anderson

Alma Ruth Carpenter Anderson, 102, of Hacker Valley went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at her home.

She was born April 1, 1923 on Cowger Hill to the late Jasper Newton and Roena Cowger Carpenter.

Alma was a member of the Hacker Valley Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord was reflected in actions with her family. She loved Sunday afternoon dinner with her family and making quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved being with her family no matter where she was.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Anderson; son David Anderson; daughter-in-law Dess Anderson; grandson Thomas Paul Anderson; great-grandson Caleb Paul Anderson; two brothers; and five sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Junior (Kathy) Anderson, Carol (John) Williams, Clara Anderson Michael, Donna (Leroy) Clutter, Anita (David) Helmstadter, and Willard (Judy) Anderson; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother Olen Carpenter; sister Margie Cutlip; and many extended family members and friends to mourn her passing.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Hacker Valley Baptist Church with Pastor John Elbert officiating. Interment will follow in Hacker Valley Cemetery.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs.

In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial Contributions be made to the Hacker Valley Baptist Church, 4501 Hacker Valley Road, Hacker Valley, WV 26222.
