Carol Agnes White

Carol Agnes White, 70 of Birch River passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her home.

She was born January 9, 1955 in Sutton to the late Osie Wilbur and Edna Adeline Hicks White and was a homemaker.

Carol attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed watching gospel music and devotions on YouTube. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She enjoyed gardening, canning, mowing the yard, flowers, and watching westerns; especially those that included John Wayne. Carol loved her pets: her dog, Dobie and cats, Sylvester and Mousie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 42 years, Paul Chapman; brothers: Carl White and Jimmy “Bo” White; and sister Mary Cousins.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Carolyn Pauline (Craig) Stimson of Randolph County, Paul David White of Wood County, and Shannon (Shawn) Shaffer of Nicholas County; brother, Keith White; grandchildren: Dylan Cole (Summer) Perkins of Buckhannon, Dalton Lee McCourt and Adriana of North Carolina, Dakota Mitchell Shaffer of Virginia, and Tayla Cheyanne Shaffer of Craigsville; great-grandchildren: Mazelynn Baldridge, Langston Shaffer, Penelope Shaffer, and Jericho Hayes Perkins; nieces and nephews: Keith White, Jr., Laurie White, and Daniel White; son-in-law of 28 years, Richard Postelwait; many cousins; and several extended family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Job.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs.
