Concetta E. Blake, 55, of Webster Springs, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Webster County Memorial Hospital.
Born November 2, 1963 in Webster Springs, she was the daughter of Thomas and Retha (Green) Grimes.
She became a nurse after working as a CNA and allowing her compassion toward people to flourish. She never said a bad word about anyone. Concetta was both a mommy’s girl and a daddy’s girl, and an amazing mother and teacher to her daughters; later, she became the world to her husband, John. She was his best friend, rock, and soulmate. Affectionately known as Grandma Monkey and Grandma Pookie, she had a special place in her heart for her beautiful grandchildren. Above all, she was a devout Christian and attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Cowen.
Left to cherish her memories are her mother and father, Retha and Thomas Grimes; husband, John Blake; daughters, Vanessa Johns of Cowen, Brandi Hayhurst of Cowen, Natasha Blake of Beckley; sons, Jonathon Feagans of Cowen and Josh Blake of Princeton; grandchildren, Gavin, Jeffrey, Vayden, and Samyah; half-brother, Jimmy Deel; half-sister, Jamie Mathes; her beloved bulldogs, Harley and Hailey; and a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing
Services to celebrate Concetta’s life will be held 2pm, Friday, April 26 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Hamrick officiating. Burial will take place at Joe McCourt Cemetery, Webster Springs.
Friends may join the family for visitation 6-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
