David Franklin Shahan, 86 of Hacker Valley passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born December 06, 1932 in St. George, WV to Charles I. and Sadie Pearl Ludwick Shahan and was a United States Army Veteran.
He retired from General Motors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his hands, was always on the go, and enjoyed flower gardening. He was a member of the Hacker Valley Volunteer Fire Department, was a Boy Scout Leader, and operated Kathy’s Diner in Hacker Valley.
David is survived by his wife Kathryn Fisher Shahan; children Karen (Anthony) Carcell of Geneva, OH, Michael (Becky) Shahan of Granite City, IL, Timothy (Doreen) Shahan of Hubbard, OH, Jeffrey (Dianne) Shahan of Jasper, GA; sisters Mildred (Edward) Zasadzinski, Mary (Robert) Johnson, Alice (Thomas) Good, and Dorothy (Robert) Kerbel; brother Alan (Barbara) Shahan; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a few on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Charles D. Shahan; infant daughter Baby Girl Shahan; brothers Alva (Doris) Shahan, Maurice (Sandy) Shahan, Jay Shahan, and Arthur (Brenda) Shahan; and two infant sisters.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate David’s life will be held on Friday at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Radabaugh Cemetery, Replete.
