Dawn Ann Casto

Dawn Ann Casto, 53, of Webster Springs passed away at home on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Born April 30, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of James Casto and the late Thelma (McIe) Casto. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Casto.

Dawn was a very outspoken person. She enjoyed a good laugh and was constantly being a jokester and having fun. She enjoyed cooking and the outdoors; particularly, camping and swimming. Dawn loved her family and was known as the family mediator, keeping the peace during squabbles; she was the glue of the family, you could say. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, whom she enjoyed spending time with.

In addition to her father, James, Dawn leaves behind her daughter, Dessie McCourt; grandchildren: Abelia Morrison, Samuel Cowger, and Danika Cowger; brother, James Murell Casto; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services to celebrate Dawn’s life will be held 2pm, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Green officiating. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery, Cherry Low Gap. Friends may join the family for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service time.
