Donna Jane Lee Tuttle, 84 of Charleston, formerly of Webster Springs, passed away peacefully at Mary's Garden Center in Marmet on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born November 20, 1929 in Clifftop, WV to Mildred McGraw and Michael O'Doud Lee. She was a lifelong resident of Webster County and a devoted mother and grandmother. Donna was a 1948 graduate of Webster Springs High School and Class Valedictorian.  She received a Bachelor's degree from Davis and Elkins College in 1952 and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from WV College of Graduate Studies.  She taught English and Psychology at Cowen High School and was a School Counselor at Webster County High School until she retired in 1987.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bolair, Eastern Star, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers' Sorority, Webster County Retired Teachers' Association, and a volunteer at the Mountain Marketplace Mission in Bolair.  She was a lifelong learner who loved to read, travel, debate politics, and to laugh with family and friends.

Donna is survived by her daughters Tamra Hemke of Tampa, FL, Sue Tuttle of Washington DC, and Lisa Tuttle of Charleston; grandchildren Kevin Mahaney, Kyle Mahaney, Jennifer Flinn, John Tuttle Whitlock, and Sam Whitlock; and great-grandson Kieran Mahaney. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Michael Lee Jr.; and husband John Louis Tuttle.

Friends may join the family to celebrate Donna's life on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Mark McAllister officiating.
