The most amazing father we have ever known, Earl Junior Channell, went to join our mother and live with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born January 1, 1929 in Webster Springs to Elijah “E.P.” and Laura Carpenter Channell and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. A United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, Earl loved farming, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a frame machine mechanic in the auto industry and enjoyed visiting with people. He always wore a smile.
Earl is survived by his children Sheila (Dale) Beaver of Huntington, Randy (Kathy) Channell of Philippi, Doris (James) Bartley of Clarksburg, Linda (Tim) Herr of Indiana, Karen (Don) Quinn of Bridgeport, Jeff Channell of California, and Greg Channell of Buckhannon; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers Alby Channell, Worthy Channell, and Kenneth Channell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Anna Channell; second wife Myrl “Bethel” Channell; brother Lonnie Channell; and sister Local Tracy.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Earl’s life will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Sears officiating. Interment will follow in Cutlip Cemetery, Hacker Valley.
Dodd & Reed Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Channell family.
