Edwina Dawn Flare

Edwina Dawn “Winnie” Flare, 61 of Summersville passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

She was born February 19, 1963 in Charleston to the late Chilton E. and Sandra C. Childers Sparks and retired from Mount Olive Correctional Center where she worked in maintenance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Flare.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Joshua (Kim) Flare and Jessica Hamilton; grandchildren: Brandon Lanham, Jordan Lanham, Khloe Lanham, and James Hamilton; sisters: Christine Sparks, Ellen Sparks, and Sarah Jo Sparks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Graveside Services were held at Fairview Cemetery, Webster Springs.
