Emogene Hines

Emogene F. Hines, 94, of Diana, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Webster County Memorial Hospital.

Born January 28, 1930 in Diana, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Reva J. (Knight) Perrine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert Hines; sons, Robert (Darlene) Hines and Phillip Hines; daughter, Marketta Elliott; granddaughter, Donna Hines; sons-in-law, Harold Schrader and Philip Casteel; brother, Billy Joe Perrine; and sister, Rosalee A.Cutlip.

Emogene was a member of the Holly River Baptist Church, where she was part of several committees and the lady’s leadership group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club. She worked at several places around the county, but especially enjoyed her time working at Webster County Senior Citizen’s Organization and in-home personal care. In her spare time, you could find her reading, sewing, and quilting.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Anna Schrader, Vera Casteel, Therial “Jonie” Hines (wife, Lisa), and Jimmy Hines; grandchildren: Tina, Michelle, Timothy, Amanda, Kevin, Steve, Kristina, James Robert, Chasta, Shawnette, Amy, Eric, Ashley, and Emily; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Virginia Hines; sister-in-law, Chloe Perrine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Funeral Services to celebrate Emogene’s life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Holly River Baptist Church, Diana, with Pastor Butch Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Holly River Baptist Church Cemetery, Diana.

Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to service time, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at the church.
