Harry Sylvester Cogar, 84 of Webster Springs passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley after an extended illness. He was born September 16, 1928 in Bolair to Oscar Clayton and Amelia Davis Cogar. He lived the majority of his life in Webster County and was a coal miner. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Harry is survived by his wife Linda Mae Hardman Cogar; sons Harlan Cogar of Dyer and Dwaine Cogar and Allen Cogar both of Bolair; step-son Michael Csytoros of Morgantown; daughters Debbie Vaughan, Belinda Davis, and Sondra Ireland all of Buckhannon, Rita Knak of Minnesota, Kathy Deel of Kentucky, and Scarlet Cogar of Webster Springs; step-daughter Lydia Edwards of Beaver Dam, VA; brothers D. Michael Cogar and Richard "Pete" Cogar both of Bolair; sister June Wilson of Cowen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Angie Cogar; four brothers; and six sisters.
There will be no services at this time as it was Harry's wish to be cremated.
