Ira E. "Eddie" Hamrick, 70 of Gilboa died June 12, 2010, at CAMC General Hospital, Charleston, following an extended illness. He was born June 24, 1939, in Webster Springs, to the late Ira Glen Hamrick and Goldie Faye Hamrick. Eddie loved his family. He enjoyed four wheeling, camping, fishing, horseshoes, and all outdoor sports. He also enjoyed playing football at Webster Springs High School. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a retired coal miner from Peerless Eagle Coal Company, Summersville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Hamrick; and daughter, Sherry Lynn Hamrick. Survivors include his sons, Roger Hamrick, and Ricky (Bobbie) Hamrick, both of Summersville, Thomas (Samantha) Hamrick of Fort Sill, Okla. and Jessie (Mary) Dukket of Webster Springs; daughters, Kathy Hamrick of Summersville, Kimberly (Kenny) Raleigh of Mount Lookout, Pamela (Paul) Sparks of Drennen, and Robin (Rick) Roberts of Wester Springs; brother, Danny Hamrick of Webster Springs; sisters, Evalena (Sonny) Phillips, and Mary Faye (Ronald) Christian of Camden-On-Gauley, Gloria Mae (Robert) Griffith of Cowen, and Donna Ruth (Jackie) Williams of Craigsville; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with the Rev. Cofer "Bud" Cochran and the Rev. Tom Kessler officiating. Interment will be at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may call from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the funeral home. Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
