James Phares, Jr.

James C. Phares, Jr. passed peacefully at home May 2, 2020 following a long illness.  He was born May 30, 1937 in Bergoo, WV to Edna and James C.  “Jack” Phares, Jr.    He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Harley Phares of Ohio and sister and brother-in-law Dortha “Betty Lee” and Wetzel Hamrick, and Russie O’Brien.

He is survived by daughter Deborah Phares Collins (Dan Martin) of Yucaipa, CA and son James C. “Jim” Phares and his wife Jenny of Webster Springs, WV; eight grandchildren , Christa Collins of Vancouver, WA, Amanda Collins (Eric Gernertt), Hemet, CA, James C. “J.C.” Phares (Anna Phares), Raleigh, WV, McKayla D. Phares (Anthony Frazier), Point Pleasant, WV , Sara, Joseph, Faith and Paige Phares, Webster Springs, WV; seven great grandchildren,  Marissa (Belle) Whitford, Monmouth, Oregon, Kenny Williams, Phoebe, Charlotte, and Dorothea Standfest, Emma Gernertt and Kynlee Lyana Frazier

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Dodd and Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Rev. Brandon Moll officiating.  Burial with Masonic Rites by Addison Lodge #116 AF & AM will follow at Dodrill Family Cemetery, Bergoo.  Visitation will be 6-9 PM Friday, May 8, 2020 at the funeral home.
