Janet Darlene (Gum) Cogar, 54, of Cowen went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born March 14, 1965 in Buckhannon, she was the daughter of the late Gerald “Jug” and Glendolene (Howell) Gum.
She was a past president of the Rebekah Lodge #91 and a school volunteer for Hacker Valley Elementary.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dusty Cogar, Rusty Cogar, Ethan (wife, Michelle) Cogar, and Adam Cogar; daughter, Gretchen Cogar; grandchildren, Emily Cogar, Hayden Cogar, Jacob “Chase” Cogar, Trenton Cogar, and Jon Cogar; sisters, JanDiese (husband, Robert) Johnson, and Janna Nycole Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jug Gum in 1997; mother, Glendolene Gum in 2013; infant brothers, Roger Gum and Alva George Gum; infant sister, Josephine Gum; maternal grandparents, Walter and Edra Howell; paternal grandparents, Alva Gum and Lula Hines.
Services to celebrate Janet’s life will be held 8 pm, Wednesday February 5, 2020 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Friends may join the family two hours prior to the services for visitation.
