Jessie Hamrick of Webster Springs died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in Beverly, WV, at the age of 94. She was born in Richwood, WV, May 7, 1916 daughter of the late Anthony Lewis Keener and Lona Emily Woods Keener. She was a retail clerk and homemaker, living all her life in Webster County. She attended Laurel Mountain United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Marvin Carpenter and Thurmond Hamrick, children: Katie, Wallace, Clayton, and Norma Lee, six sisters, and an infant brother.
She is survived by sons: Walter Carpenter of Miliken, CO, and Warren (Jane) Carpenter of Elkins, WV, daughter: Loraine (Shorty) Simmons of Webster Springs, WV, sister: Margaret (Ben) Pennington of Yulee, FL, 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 33 great great grandchildren.
Visitaion will be Monday May 2, 2011 from 9am-11am at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs. Services will be held the same day at 11am with Rev. Sam Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Adam Miller Cemetery in Webster Springs.
