Joseph Skidmore Sr.

Joseph Michael Skidmore, Sr., 60, of Sutton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018, just one day shy of his 61st birthday.

Joe was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.  He was Trinity by faith.

Born April 15, 1957 in Sutton, he was the son of the late George and Willa (Riffle) Skidmore.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Skidmore; and his half-brothers, Bailey Donato and Frank Donato.

Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife, Lucille (Claypool) Skidmore; son, Joseph Michael Skidmore, Jr of Bridgeport; daughter, Robin Tonkin of Jane Lew; grandchildren, Tessa Lynn Skidmore, Chasity Ann Skidmore, Adrian Keyshawn Ramsey, Asia Nicole Ramsey, Andrew Blake Clutter, Bentley James Cunningham, and Michael Veon Salisbury; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services to celebrate Joe’s life will be held 2PM, Friday, April 20, 2018 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carpenter Cemetery at Hickory Flats in Erbacon.

Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to the service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
