Judith "Judy" M. Mace, was born at Victor, WV, on Aug. 9, 1938 and died July 3, 2014 at her home in Webster Springs, WV following a very long and serious illness.  She was a Baptist by faith and was always respectful of other religious beliefs.  She was preceded in death by her parents:  Randell G. Bragg, Sr. and Garnet Skaggs Bragg, and grandparents:  John and Ollie Skaggs, and Nolen and Rebecca Bragg.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband:  Dr. R. M. Mace M.D. of Webster Springs, WV, son:  John Randall Mace and his wife Cindy, parents of John Randell, II, Meghan Marie, Joseph Allen, Mary Rose, Jesse Anthony, and Marni Elizabeth all of Lancaster, SC,  daughter:  Jill Renee' Peterson and her husband Matt, parents of James Franklin "Jay" Scheidler, Eric and Sarah Peterson of Scott Depot, WV, daughter:  Joan Elaine, mother of Morgan Renee' Cole, Matthew Ryan Cole and Michael Dean Cole of Winfield, WV other former sons-in-law:  Jim Scheidler and Kevin Cole, son:  Robert Morgan Mace, II and his wife, Rebecca Waybright Lynch Mace and their children:  Dana Lee Lynch, Maria Nicole Mace and Robert Morgan Mace, III of Webster Springs.  Also surviving, nephews and nieces:  Randell Gorden Bragg Lassinger of Cowen, Clifford Michael Bragg of Laurinburg, NC, Debra Anita Bragg Boley and Donna Jean Bragg Bush both of Oak Hill, William Randell Carpenter of PA, Fred L. Williams, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, and Thomas Dean Williams of Santa Cruz, CA, several great nephews and nieces, many very special friends and many special patients.  She had a tremendous appreciation for the employees of the Webster County Memorial Hospital and all of her residential caretakers.

Judy is a 1956 graduate of Cowen High School, during high school she was a majorette and cheer leader.  She worked at Camp Caesar and attended the First Baptist Church of Cowen, where she sang solo and with the choir.  She participated in BYF and in the early 1960's she was a member of the Young Democrat Women of Webster Springs, and attended the Governors' Ball in 1964.  She attended Glenville State College and was a graduate of Davis & Elkins School of Nursing, earning a degree as a Registered Nurse.  She worked with her husband using her nursing skills and excellent secretarial skills at their family medical office in Webster Springs.  She was a former secretary for Pennsylvania & WV Supply at Cowen and worked as a medical secretary for West Virginia University in the neurology deparrtment.  She enjoyed helping others and loved the fellowship that she shared with her patients.  During her many years of illness and pain, she never lost her sense of humor.  Judy will truly be missed by her family and many friends and those who cared for her during her long term illness.

A private service and burial will be held with Rev. Reggie Stewart officiating.  Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cowen, WV.   In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Ann's Catholic Church, Webster Springs, WV.
