Karen Sue (Mustoe) Kinney, 77 of Webster Springs, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025 after an extended illness.
She was born April 23, 1947 in Webster Springs to the late William and Anna Cogar Mustoe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dennis Gail Mustoe.
Karen worked in various clerical positions that included Webster County Hospital, DHHR, and United Bank. She was a Christian and a member of Elk Valley Chapel where she was very active in the choir, VBS and theatrical church performances, and was a Sunday School and VBS teacher. Karen was also a founding member and treasurer of “The Ladies Retreat”. She enjoyed making desserts, crafting (especially holiday crafts), camping, and shopping. She was a good listener, very loyal to those she loved, and a great friend. She loved God and was her sister’s best friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Nathan Kinney and Todd (Tammy) Kinney; grandchildren: Megan (Will) Kiifner, Ethan Kinney, and Tyler Kinney; great-grandchildren: Chantz and Kinsley Kiifner; sister, Cheryl (John) Hamrick; brother John, (Elaine) Mustoe; sister-in-law, Brenda Mustoe; aunt, Betty Cutlip; nieces and nephews: Toby, Jennifer, Nick, Andy, Derek, and Nick; special friends: Ann Lehman, Carol Simms, and Linda Cool; and a host of cousins and extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastors Kyle Hall and Doy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Webster Springs.
Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to service time, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
