Larry Gene House

Larry Gene House, 66 of Webster Springs, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 15, 1957 in Webster Springs to the late Retis C. and Betty Jean Coffman house.

He was a 1976 graduate of Webster County High School where he was active in the auto-mechanic program, earning the title of VICA Champion for auto mechanics. After High School, he went on to Pennsylvania working for Brooks Instruments. Later he returned to Webster and worked for the Webster Echo, Hypar Machine in Richwood, and a short period at Hammonds Hardware in Webster Springs. He then began his professional mechanic career at White Chevrolet where he earned numerous awards and certificates from Chevrolet Corporation. He also worked for Cool Motors, Keith Hamrick’s Auto, and most recently and until his health declined, was a mechanic for John Clutter Tire & Auto.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Thomas Herold Coffman, Retis Junior House, Roger Clyde House, and Robert House.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice McCartney House; son Michael (Amanda) McCartney; daughter Betsy House; grandson Seth McCartney; brother Ronald “Ronnie” Lee (Carelene) House; sisters Linda (Brian) Andrews and Lorene Carpenter; and several extended family and friends to mourn his passing.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
