Lester Forman Cogar

Lester Forman Cogar, 82 of Webster Springs, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at United Hospital Center. He was born September 5, 1942 in Laurel Fork to the late Ernie and Rosie Margaret McCoy Cogar. He was a Steel Mill Worker and a member of the Sand Fork Church of God Prophecy.

Lester loved playing music, especially the banjo and guitar, hunting, fishing, gardening, and tinkering with anything with a motor. He found peace in taking care of the lawn at his church. He was a caring, kind man with a great sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brother Aaron Cogar and sisters Lena Cogar and Barbara Haynm.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patty Cogar; children Cynthia Burke, Stephen Cogar, and Sonja (Mark) Creps; son-in-law Paul Burke; brothers Hampton Cogar and Jerry Cogar; grandchildren Sarah Burke, Rachel Burke, and Elizabeth Creps; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Private Burial will follow in McCoy Cemetery, Webster Springs.

Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to service time, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
