Linda Faye (Lewis) Barbe, 77, of Diana passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Born December 7, 1946 in Elkins, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Faye Leona (Casto) Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vonda Darlene Barbe; brothers-in-law: Joe Armentrout, Ray Griffis, and Dana Cogar; and sister-in-law, Betty Lewis.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and was very active; Linda liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed playing women’s softball. She was an avid Bowler for many years on a league in Sutton. For over 50 years, she was a 4-H leader, attending camps and mentoring children from all over the state. Above all, she adored her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren tremendously and would do absolutely anything for them.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory are the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, Coy Barbe; her children: Donna Mallow (Tony), Linda Barbe Clevenger, Roy Barbe, and Mary Barbe; fifteen grandchildren: Daniel Taylor, Steven Clevenger (Brianna), Amy Clevenger (Elmer), Lindsey Clutter (Anthony), Michael Tanner (Tori), Whitney Young (Tommy), Tabitha Amos (Jarred), Heather Maloyed (Randy), Marina Hoke (Chad), Amber Daniels (John), Marcus Tanner (Anna), Arika Barbe (Caleb), Jason Brooks, Miley Barbe, and Roy Barbe, Jr.; eighteen great-grandchildren: Damian, Eli, Allison, Willow, Seth, Jacob, Jasmine, Briauna, Harlow, Malik, Kolson, Declan, Liam, Cody, Grayson, Gabriella, Karter, and Karlie; brother, Edgar “Jim” Lewis; sisters: Marilyn McCourt (Ronnie), Sharon Armentrout, Helen Griffis, Doris Cogar, and Brenda Davis (Richard); special cousins, Glen and Judy Haddix; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. 

Friends may join the family for visitation 6pm-9pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Services to celebrate Linda’s life will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 26, 2024 also at the funeral home, with Pastor Curt Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery, Diana. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
