Margie McCourt

Margie McCourt, 86 of Webster Springs went to meet her Lord on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 21, 1926 in Marcus, WV to Albert and Belle Smith Mathes. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Webster Springs. She attended Upper Glade Holiness Church and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed listening to gospel hymns, loved being a mom and grandma, and took care of her house. She was a hard worker both inside and outside the home, raising a garden and tending her flowers in the yard.
Margie is survived by her sons Jasper McCourt, Jr. of Walkersville, Phillip McCourt of Hacker Valley, and Michael (Crystal) McCourt of Cowen; daughters Martha (Roger) Hall of Webster Springs and Mary Nutter (companion Matthew Hanna) of Webster Springs; 21 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jasper McCourt, daughter JoAnn Meadows; brothers Jenk, Roscoe, and Buster; and sisters Virginia, Minnie, Nora, and Helen.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Bender officiating. Interment will follow in Columbus McCourt Cemetery.
