Marion Jackson "Shorty" Bruffy, 83 of Diana, WV passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born December 16, 1927 in Narrows Run, Webster County, WV to James Norman and Bessie Jane McCartney Bruffy and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in WWII, a coal miner and farmer, a Baptist by faith, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming.
He is survived by his children James M. "Butch" Bruffy of Canvas, WV, Stephen Mark Bruffy, Sheila Bruffy, and Patricia M. Hines, all of Diana, WV; brothers Lawrence of Webster Springs, WV, Nelson of West Union, WV, Homer Lee of Caldwell, OH, and Johnny Madison of Uhrichsville, OH; sisters Mary Helen Mazzo of Templeton, CA, Alice Belle Brown of Morgantown, WV, Linda Lou Saffle of Chippewa Lake, OH, Charlotte Sue Jeffres of North Scituate, RI, Karen Kay Hall of Selbyville, WV, Verna Mae Nistendirk of Huntington, WV, Janet Sue Cochran of White Marsh, VA, Ellen Ann Givens of Folsom, CA, and Shirley Naomi Clutter of West Salem, OH; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Arvilla Collins Bruffy; and son Marion Orville Bruffy.
Shorty chose to have no services and cremation has taken place.
