Mary Ruth Rose Snyder

Mary Ruth Rose Snyder, 100 of Bergoo, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. She was born November 2, 1924 in Pickens to the late Johnny Bryant and Hattie Samples Moore and was a homemaker.

Mary was a member of the Bergoo Baptist Church where she was very active. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, singing, camping, ramp digging, and anything outdoors. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Rose, Sr.; sons Gerald Rose, Jr. and James “Shorty” Rose, Sr.; daughters Mary Alice “Mousie” Hall and Brenda Brewer; several siblings; and son-in-law Harley Ray Vandevender.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Anna Jean Vandevender and Sharon (Jerry) Davis; daughter-in-law Carol Rose; son-in-law Ralph Hall; sisters Bonnie Jansen and Karen (Nelson) Vandevender; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Funeral Services to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Bergoo Baptist Church, Bergoo. Interment will follow in Swecker Cemetery, Brady Gate. Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to service time, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Bergoo Baptist Church.
