Montia Brown, Sr., 93 of Hacker Valley, WV, died on Dec. 16, 2010 at Braxton Health Care Center, Sutton, WV. He was born in Marpleton, WV, a son of the late McKinley J. and Virginia "Jenny" Crowe Brown.
He was a coal miner and saw mill worker, and attended the Hacker Valley Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He also enjoyed playing music and horses.
He is survived by sons: Montia J. Brown, Jr. of Thomas, WV, and Darell O. Brown of Fayette County, WV, brother: Kenneth J. Brown of Hacker Valley, WV, sisters: Anna Rose Morrison of Sutton, WV, Nelle Bickel of Webster Springs, WV, Frances Lundsford of Replete, WV, and Juanita Mollohan of Hacker Valley, WV, 3 grandchildren: Milissa Nacole (Bernado) Maria, Marty Shane (Carrie) Brown, and Stephney (Joe) Troyan, and ten great grandchildren, Katelynn, Tristian, Gabriella, and Nicholas Maria, Alexis, Taylor and Logan Brown, and Brandon, Savannah and Lilly Troyan.
Services will be held at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, WV, Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Chris Cosner officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Hacker Valley, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 2 P.M. Online condolences will be received at www.doddreedfh.com.
