Eppy Sears

December 9, 1951 — January 15, 2025

Webster Springs

Naomi Effa “Eppy” Sears, 73 of Webster Springs, went home to be with her Lord and family in Heaven on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born December 9, 1951 in Philippi to the late Earl Thornton and Lillian Marine Skeens Tracy and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She was a member of Upper Holly Union Mission Church and attended when her health permitted. She also was a Sunday School teacher. Eppy was a loving Christian, Mother and Nanny. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing games on her phone. She previously was a caretaker for the elderly and volunteered at Diana Grade School when her girls were in school and was known as the “Popcorn Lady”.

Eppy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She always wore a smile and was the most kindhearted person you would ever meet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lindell “Dink” Tracy; sisters: Sondra O’Dell and her husband Bill, Linda Cowger, Veda Hamrick and her husband Frank, and Ellen Sturm and her husband Howard; brother-in-law Gary Cochran; sister-in-law Karen Tracy; special friend Bessie Pritt; and several nieces.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Chester Sears; daughters: Amanda (Dwayne) Green and Leslie (Ben) Dillon; grandchildren: Zachary Green, Karolynn Green, Payton Dillon, and Skylar Dillon; brothers: Earl Tracy and Richard (Dee) Tracy; sisters: Sue Cochran, Edna (Phillip) Channell, Becky (Shane) Hamrick, Willa (Curt) Davis, and Molly (Ben) Crites; brother-in-law Doyle Cowger; very special friend Kenny Pritt; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
