Raymond “J.R.” Williams, Jr., 75 of Webster Springs passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Fayette Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born December 09, 1943 on Lick Run, to the late Raymond “Burb” Williams, Sr. and Lillian Rose Williams.
He was Pentecostal by faith; enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses and porch swings, gardening, and busting up wood for the winter. He was a retired carpenter, by trade.
Raymond is survived by his children Debra “DJ” Williams and her significant other Lance Edwards, and Albert Williams and his wife Teresa; grandchildren Michael Axtell, William Edwards, Jr., Sara Williams, and Donovon Williams; brothers Clyde, Robert, Doug, Bradley, Paul, Jacob, and Thomas Williams; furry companion Opi; and many other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers William, Stanley, and Pete Williams.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Raymond’s life will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Rounds officiating. Interment will follow in Lick Run Cemetery, Hacker Valley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
