Sarah Miles

Sarah Irene "Roxie" Miles, 89, of Diana, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Braxton County Memorial Hospital. Sarah was born July 5, 1920 to Benjamin Harrison and Mary Esteline (Hall) Cogar at Guardian, WV. Known to most as Roxie, she was a homemaker who lived her entire life in Webster County. Roxie will be missed by son Harley Ray Williams of Orrville, OH; daughter Stella Estine Stout of Webster Springs; stepsons Bobby Ray Miles of Hamstead, MD and Ronald Fred Miles of Webster Springs; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray Bazil Miles; brothers Minter, Levi, Orville, Okey and Robert Cogar; sisters Reba Brown, Edna Cool and Lena Hamrick; and two grandsons Bobby Ray Stout and Michael Ray Miles. Friends may gather with the family on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 6 to 9 PM in the chapel of Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 10 at 11 AM also at the funeral home. Reverend Chris Cosner will officiate. Sarah Irene Miles will be laid to rest in the Cogar Cemetery, Guardian, WV.
