Shirlen Lee Pugh, 84 of Rock Cave passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Holbrook on the Hill in Buckhannon. He was born April 16, 1930 in Hacker Valley to Arvil and Wanda Detamore Pugh and was a retired dozer operator for Island Creek Coal Company. He enjoyed going to dirt track races, squirrel hunting, feeding hummingbirds and other wild birds, and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed working on and restoring Chevrolet Corvairs and was a member of the Corvair Club of America.
Shirlen is survived by his son Lynn (wife Patty) Pugh of Cleveland; grandchildren Jamie (wife Kelly) Pugh and Chrissy (husband Dennis) Batten; great-grandchildren Kole Pugh, Madison Pugh, Clayton Keplinger, and Jared Bailey; sisters Arvilla Wince and Sheila Harvey; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Keith Pugh Cool; wife Jane Cool Pugh; brother Harold Pugh; and sister Gladys Vensel.
In keeping with Shirlen's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
