Virginia M. Davis, 73 of Oakland passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Family Hospice & Pallative Care in Mt. Lebanon, PA. Born April 23, 1940 in Summersville, Virginia was the beloved daughter and only child of the late Nelson and Agnes Funkhouser Davis. She was a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington and began her career in 1962 as an assistant buyer for Gimbel Brothers in Pittsburgh. She served from 1962-1965 as an accounting instructor at Webster Springs High School and in 1965 joined Mellon Bank's Trust Department as a statistician. She was a member and former president of the Altrusa Club of Pittsburgh, a retired vice president and trust officer of PNC Bank, and member, from its inception in 1987, of the Board of Directors of the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation. She is survived by her uncle Edward Davis of Ashland, KY and also several cousins.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Walker Memorial Park in Summersville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, 1251 Waterfront Place #5, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
