Virginia (Maxine) Cogar Skidmore Mick, 80, of Webster Springs, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the WV Caring Hospice in Elkins.
Born June 16, 1941 at Cogar Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Lucille Dodrille Cogar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Skidmore; son and daughter-in-law: Richard and Susie Hines; daughter, Frankie Cochran; brothers: Charles, Allen, Stoney, and Michael Cogar; and step-mother, Leota Willmoth Cogar.
Virginia was a Baptist by faith; she loved music, gardening, cooking/canning, sitting on her porch and watching birds, and eating popsicles.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, James “David” Mick; daughter, Jeanie Isolato; son, Jesse Skidmore; granddaughters: Patrisha Skidmore, Hillary Hines, and Tara Hines; grandsons: James Cochran and Golden Skeens; great-granddaughters: Makinsey and Adriana Hinkle, and Dieta Skeens; great-grandsons: Hunter Wright and Jordy Hines; brothers: Everett (Sherry) Cogar and Rocky Cogar; sisters: Rosalea (Ronnie) Barnett, Geraldine Steed, Gladie (Donald) Holcomb, Brenda Alderman, and Nettie (Marty) Duffield; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Graveside services will take place 1pm, Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Cogar Cemetery, Desert Fork with Pastor Jim Varney officiating. Burial will follow.
