Wanda Lea Curtis, 92 of Webster Springs passed peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Webster County Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born May 24, 1922 in Dusk Camp, Gilmer County, to Luther and Goldie Utt Ellison and was a homemaker and a store clerk. She enjoyed shopping, camping, and spending time with her family. Her favorite joy was being involved in her church, the First United Methodist Church of Webster Springs, where she was a member of the Methodist Women.
Wanda is survived by her son David (wife Bet) Curtis of Hillsboro; granddaughters Melissa Susan Curtis and Tara Ellison Curtis; niece Kim Ellison; nephew Rick Ellison; great-niece Reka Rehberg Rowan; great-great-niece Halley Rowan; many Utt "kousins"; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George William "Bill" Curtis; and brothers Robert Ellison and Wilbur Ellison.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Wanda's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Moll officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM at Peterson Cemetery in Weston. Memorial Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, 120 Church Street, Webster Springs, WV 26288.
